Children’s Toys

Some children have a lot of toys around the home and they cannot play with all of them at any one time. This is where you require storage units, so that your children have the space that they need to play, whilst the others are packed away safely until they are needed. The toys can be stored away in their bedroom, in a spare room or in the corner of your front room; it really depends on the space that is available to you.

If you have large toys, then these can be placed onto storage racks and stacked onto the shelves so that they can be easily access when they are required. If you have smaller toys then there are coloured plastic storage boxes that can be placed onto the storage racks and have the toys stored inside them. They can also be taken off of the shelves and act as a play box for your child to use.

The plastic storage boxes come with lids, which enable you to stack the storage boxes on top of each other so that they take up less space when they are stored away. There are a wide range of plastic storage boxes and they are available in a selection of different sizes.

If you do not have space for the storage racks then there are plastic storage boxes that come with wheels on and these can be hidden under your child’s bed out of the way. They can then be wheeled out with ease when it comes to playtime.

The garage and storage solutions

The garage, as well as being a secure place to leave your car, has the potential to be used for storage as well.

Garage storage can be optimised by the use of several items. For example, an overhead storage hook will create more storage space. The hook will mount to ceiling beams or rafters. Normally, it is recommended that a storage hook is fixed into solid wood using a screw which is at least one inch in length. The versatility of the overhead storage hook is easily appreciated since it can also be used in the shed or the cellar.

A storage system that makes use of the wall space above, for instance, a work table or work benches would also be beneficial. A support structure for the storage bins or drawers is needed. Ideally, the support structure should be simple to attach by bolting it to the work table and fixing to the wall for complete safety. Storage units may then be attached to or hung on to the frame. A typical support frame may have the approximate dimensions, 165w x 4d x 235h cm. However, this type of durable steel frame will probably cost around £80 or more.

An inexpensive way of storing tools would be to purchase a tool racking kit. The storage rack kit would typically have a peg wall panel, which would be secured to the wall. Once this is done, tool hooks would be attached to the panel wherever they make best use of the space.  So storage solutions for your garage are out there for you to access as required.

The portability of racking

Space is a valuable commodity. It needs to be used wisely or else it is wasted, and so is money. These days, everything costs money, whether it’s the materials for construct a building, or the ground were the building will be situated, or simply the space within the building that stock will be taking up. If floor space is not properly utilised then more cash has to be spent to make more space available.

Mobile racking and high density storage is a cost effective method of utilising valuable floor space. Mobile racking reduces the number of access aisles associated with conventional static systems. Storage units are fitted onto mobile carriages which move along concealed floor tracks. Carriages are moved from side to side to create access aisles for document retrieval, or timber retrieval depending on the business. The mobile racking system is versatile and brings hope to even the most chaotic of storage scenarios.

There are 3 methods of moving the carriages to suit clients’ requirements: simple hand-pull systems, mechanically driven carriages by turning hand wheels and electric motors with push button control.

A hand-pull system can be just the ticket.

Hand driven mechanical systems are operated by a hand wheel, which is linked to a drive shaft by a gear reduction chain for easy operation. Each handle is fitted with an immobilisation plunger to prevent accidental closure.

Electrically operated powered motor systems are designed to take the manual effort out of mobile storage.

There is thus a broad choice of storage solutions that are sure to solve any business storage problems.

Storage units may be swiftly assembled these days

Quick assembly storage units are ideal for anyone needing to store or stack items in a hurry. There are people who can’t or won’t wait for Mr. Fix-it to come round and assemble a large racking unit or a dozen shelves onto the wall. Let us face it, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea indulging in the art of DIY. Sometimes wall units can be tricky to mount. Also walls are not always as reliable as first constructed. They can deteriorate over time. That’s where quick assembly shelving comes into its own.

These shelves can be thrown up in a matter of minutes. They are so easy and practical to construct. Some of them don’t even require bolts or screws. The only thing needed for the assembly of these great storage units is a hammer. Some metal frames can support a weight more than 250 kilogrammes. This means that all sorts of hardware can be stored including: tins of paint, toolboxes, spare car batteries as well as many other domestic items.

The shelves are quite often adjustable to allow the accommodation of the taller or bulkier items. There are also different types of metal, from attractive chrome to galvanized steel that would suit any kitchen. Different colours are also available to blend with the surroundings.

Some contemporary manufacturers produce a wide variety of metal shelving, as well as other materials, suitable for a variety of uses. These units are usually finished to a high standard and support various weights.
