The things in the cellar

Many older houses will have cellars, which are an ideal place for a chest freezer and a wine rack. A chest freezer will use less electricity since the ambient temperature is lower. It will also benefit from being kept full and plastic storage boxes suitable for keeping frozen food will be useful, since they will stack tightly together in the freezer. The lower temperature is ideal for keeping wine. Many different types of storage racks for wine are available and easy to assemble. A cellar, however, can also be a perfect storage area. This is especially true for the householder who has no garage or shed.

A shelving system could be fixed to one wall and allow the householder flexibility in how shelves are arranged depending on what he or she needs to store on them. Plastic storage boxes, for example, of varying sizes and weight may be handily stored here. Collapsible boxes will be useful since they can be stacked away when not in use.

Many people prefer to keep hold of utilities’ bills and other paperwork which may date back several years. If this is the case, a storage cabinet would be useful. Cabinets are available in various sizes and may have one or more adjustable shelves onto which box or lever-arch files, for instance, can be neatly kept.

If the occupant has a small kitchen, he may find the cellar a perfect area to store fresh vegetables and plastic storage boxes would be ideal for this purpose. If the individual has a garden, a cellar may be used to store home grown items.
